March 18, 2010
The Democratic Party of Brown County has formally endorsed Jack LeDuc of De Pere for Supervisor in the race for Brown County Board District 18 on April 6, 2010.
Born to a large, middle class family, Jack learned the values of hard work, humility, and faith early on, while walking the streets of our community to deliver newspapers and volunteering at a local radio station.
Jack graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and completed some graduate work at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. During his first years out of college, Jack held various jobs, including a teacher, a chair of a high school science department, staffer for various United States Senators, and an instructor at the Capitol Police Academy.
Jack soon found his way back home to Greater Green Bay, where he established himself as a businessman and community leader. Over the past thirty-five years, Jack has quietly supported the efforts of many of his fellow citizens to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of the community.
On his qualifications and reasons for running, Jack LeDuc said:
“I seek De Pere's 18th District Brown County Supervisor position because I believe I will bring a unique set of fresh ideals, experiences and skills that will help us move our community and county forward. After 35 years of creative innovative business experience including founding and managing De Pere and Green Bay FM radio stations and contributing to many other causes, now retired, I look forward to give back to our community through public service. I stand behind the philosophy of working together, boldly, creatively and deliberately to enhance the current services provided in our county, push for new economic growth and successfully position ourselves as we enter the new decade. I believe in hard work—the principle deeply ingrained in me while growing up in De Pere and Green Bay--and have a vision for our community; a vision that will take us beyond divisions, beyond closed-door decision making and into a more open, more collegial and more inclusive type of work environment producing needed results. My business background taught me the values that rest within teamwork, and the success that can be achieved through clear understanding of the needs of our people and bold, deliberate, innovative and strategic execution. I am eager to make a difference for our community and hope you will join me in our efforts and support me with your vote at the February 16th Primary and April 6th General election.”
In making it’s endorsement, the Brown County Dems recognize that Brown County Supervisor is a non-partisan office. However, we believe Jack LeDuc has the kind of progressive and public service orientation toward the office that we Democrats can endorse. We strongly encourage all of our members and supporters who live in De Pere District 18 to vote for Jack on April 6, 2010.
As part of our endorsement, the Party has also awarded Jack LeDuc a $250 donation to his campaign.
