Kind not running for Governor |

La Crosse, Wis. - U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, announced today that he will not run for governor in 2010, saying he has a responsibility to stay in Congress to work on health care reform. Kind said this afternoon he was humbled by the outpouring of support he received while contemplating a bid. He made the following statement. |

This week our campaign picked up the first union endorsement of the 2010 race and received the support of Sen. Jim Sullivan. Here's what they had to say: "What our union cares about most is jobs, and Barbara Lawton has brought a lot of work to the State of Wisconsin for our union members. Because of her efforts to bring the film industry to Wisconsin, we saw over 100 jobs created last year for IATSE Local 470 members. That's a big deal to us because Wisconsin desperately needs leadership focused on bringing jobs to our state." |

(Madison) - ”Today, as a result of bipartisan efforts the Wisconsin Legislature gave final approval to the creation of uniform siting standards for wind energy projects in Wisconsin,” stated State Representative Jim Soletski, (D- Green Bay), the Assembly author of the bill. “I am pleased that this legislation will now go to the Governor, who is set tosign it into law.” |
